Thankyou for sharing this sad truth about the lack of accountability of the Roman Catholic Church, in allowing the sexual abuse of innocent children to flourish worldwide for centuries, causing untold lifelong damage to the victim/survivors, and many suicides of victims, who gave up hope that their stories of being sexually abused by a “holy” priest would be believed. As a Catholic physician, I have met many who have been sexually abused by priests. I too was sexually assaulted by a Carmelite priest when I was a young doctor. The Pope and the Vatican must be made accountable to civil law.

Wow….maybe we should compound issues and problems within the church by ….I don’t know…..totally disregarding God’s will once again….and…oh…maybe…let’s make women priests!!
This 3 minute video by Patrick Wall, on the history of sexual abuse and cover-up in the Catholic Church, is excellent. As a Catholic physician, I now see that there has been a sick culture in the Catholic Church for centuries that needs to be faced and corrected.
I hope and pray that the Holy Spirit will help the Pope and hierarchy of the Roman Catholic Church to become attentive to the words of Jesus to protect the innocence of children, and to become accountable for the damage that the hierarchy have done to the lives of so many victims of clergy sexual abuse, some victims became survivors, other victims committed suicide, because of the huge betrayal of trust by the ordained priesthood, including of the Pope.
